Ducks Unlimited and the University of Texas at El Paso are partnering with waterfowl hunters to conduct exciting genetics research, and we need your help! Apply today to earn your title as hunter-scientist.
The duckDNA project is a new citizen science initiative launched by Ducks Unlimited and the University of Texas at El Paso. In this pilot year we are selecting up to 300 hunters to collect a tissue sample from harvested ducks for genetic analysis. Genetic profiles will then be delivered back to hunters in their individualized portals.
duckDNA provides hunters with scientifically vetted genetic information about their harvested duck. Harvest a hybrid this season? Ever want to know what that “odd duck” really is? Find out exactly what it is, verified by DNA analysis.
